The awards application window opens on June 2, 2025 and closes at 11:59PM on July 1, 2025.

The Virginia REALTOR® of the Year Award is presented to professionals who have made proven contributions to the real estate industry through both personal and professional achievement and outstanding volunteerism.

Virginia REALTOR® Hall of Fame
The Virginia REALTOR® Hall of Fame honors Virginia REALTORS® who have made extraordinary and distinguished contributions to the real estate profession and markets in Virginia over a period of at least 25 years.
NOTE: Nominations for Hall of Fame may be submitted by individuals, firms, brokers/managers, and by local associations, but not by the nominee themselves.

Virginia REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award
The Virginia REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award recognizes REALTOR® members who make a positive impact on their community and gifts the organization through which they volunteer time and talents. This annual award seeks to highlight, inspire, and perpetuate the individual contributions within the real estate industry toward improving the lives of Virginia citizens.
The Virginia REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award recognizes REALTOR® members who make a positive impact on their community and gifts the organization through which they volunteer time and talents. This annual award seeks to highlight, inspire, and perpetuate the individual contributions within the real estate industry toward improving the lives of citizens in Virginia.
Up to 5 winners will receive a $500 one-time award, which will go to the to the 501(c)(3) non-profit/charity with which the Virginia REALTOR® Good Neighbor is involved. Recipients will be announced during the Awards & Installation ceremony at the Virginia REALTORS® Annual Convention.

Ann Swearingen Property Manager of the Year
The Ann Swearingen Property Manager of the Year Award is presented to the industry’s highest achieving association members engaged in the field of residential property management.

The Virginia REALTORS® RPAC Champion Award
The Virginia REALTORS® RPAC Champion Award recognizes REALTOR® members who go above and beyond in promoting RPAC and bolstering fundraising efforts &/or building an RPAC culture among members of the Virginia REALTORS®. This annual award seeks to highlight, inspire, and perpetuate individual RPAC contributions, and to assist with the creation of a culture of RPAC giving from REALTORS® across the Commonwealth.
The winner of the award will receive a $500 one-time award, which will be provided to their local association via reimbursement, to be used to bolster advocacy or RPAC Fundraising efforts. The recipient will be announced at the Virginia REALTORS® Annual Convention.
RULES:
- REALTORS® may nominate themselves or may be nominated by another REALTOR®, a state or local association executive, or the organization they serve.
- Virginia REALTORS® staff and their families, current Awards selection members and their families, and current sponsors/sponsor employees and their families are ineligible to participate.
- Award finalists must be willing to be interviewed, photographed, and filmed.
- Virginia REALTORS® staff and committee members will not accept lobbying efforts on behalf of nominees.
CRITERIA:
- Nominees must be members of the Virginia REALTORS® Association.
- Nominees must be members in good standing with the National Association of REALTORS®, the Virginia REALTORS® Association, and have primary membership with a Virginia local association.
- Nominees must have an active license.
- Nominees will be judged on level of personal contribution to RPAC of Virginia
- Some portion of the nominee’s work must have taken place within the 12 months prior to the nomination deadline.
- This award is intended to recognize individuals, not associations or companies. If an individual within your association or company can be singled out as instrumental to the success of a group effort, he or she is eligible.
- Nominees should be able to document the results of their involvement through published reports and/or testimonials from the organization they served or the people.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I save my application and come back to it?
A. Yes! While there is no “save” button, as long as you are using the same browser you can click the original link you used to access the application and go right back to where you left off. Hint: This won’t work if you use incognito or private browsing modes.
Q. Can I nominate myself?
A. For most awards, YES! Hall of Fame nominations are the only exception. Members are welcome to self-nominate.
Q. Can I nominate more than one person?
A. Yes, but only for different award categories. Please stick to one person for each category. You are welcome help a colleague in nominating an additional person for the same category if you’d like.
Q. Does it take long to nominate someone?
A. Nope! Just share as much as you can about the nominee. (But note, the more you share, the more our selection committee will have to consider!)
Q. What does each winner get?
A. Winners are recognized during the Awards & Installation Banquet at our annual convention in downtown Richmond this September. Each will receive a special engraved trophy, along with further recognition via our e-news and social media pages. Good Neighbor Award winners also receive a one-time $500 award that goes to the charity they volunteer with.
Q. Will my nomination be anonymous?
A. We will no longer be identifying WHO nominated our award nominees. However, if YOU wish to share that information with the person you are nominating, you are welcome to do so.
Q. When do nominees and winners get notified?
A. Those who receive nominations will be notified mid-July (unless their nominator has requested that we keep it a secret on the nomination form). Winners will then be notified of their selection in August; however, the REALTOR® of the Year winner will NOT be revealed until the awards ceremony in September.
